Children & Youth Ministry

We strive to include our children and youth in every aspect of our faith life. You will see children and youth serving with our backpack ministries, helping with Altar Guild, and even greeting on Sunday mornings. With that being said, we also have several opportunities just for children and youth!

Nursery is provided every Sunday morning, year-round, during the Sunday School hour and during worship for children birth through 5 years old. During the worship hour, a Bible story is read with a coordinating craft or activity, a snack, and the children are brought over to the sanctuary for Holy Eucharist. However, infants and children are always welcome in the service!

Sunday School runs September-May, from 9:30am-10:15am downstairs in our parish hall for children PreK – 5th grade. Age-appropriate activities and lessons are designed to help our children learn more about the Bible, their faith, and the church community.

GK Choir/Junior Choir are our children and youth choirs directed by our choirmaster Nancy Taylor. The children and youth meet every Wednesday evening (September-May) and sing at various Sunday Services throughout the year. GK Choir is open to children who are enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade and Junior Choir is open to youth 6th grade-12th grade.

Java with Father Jolly is held at The Grind on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (September-May) for our Middle and High Students. It is a time of fellowship, meaningful conversation, and of course snacks!

Acolytes at Grace help to ensure a smooth service and assist in worship by carrying the processional cross, lighting candles, and performing other duties as requested by the Deacon or Rector. Becoming an acolyte is a great way for our children and youth to get involved and to learn more about Episcopal worship.

Community Story Time is held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 10:30 am in our parish hall. This a time for caregivers and children to hear a family-friendly story from a special guest reader. A simple craft and snack are provided.

Busy Bags are located in the back of the Sanctuary for our children during service. They contain coloring, board books, and other things to keep little hands occupied. Also available are children’s bulletins and detailed children’s prayer books.

In addition to these reoccurring opportunities, we offer other exciting events for various ages such as Backpack Blessing, Christmas Pageant, Pancake Supper, Easter Egg Hunt, Camp Christbound, Fifth Sunday Fellowship Activities, and Movie Nights,
